Description

A quick speedpaint from a couple days ago, patched so that it actually looks mildly presentable.

You could have fooled me. This doesn't give the appearance of a "quick speedpaint." It has the appearance of a clear image from a skilled artist with an appealing technique.

It's simple, but manages to establish an overall feel and atmosphere that is very intriguing. It's not often I see the appearance of Rainbow so intense, somber, or even, perhaps, reverent. It intrigues me as to what is going on inside that little pony's head, or what exactly lies under that hoof she has raised. The background goes perfectly with the design of Dash and just completes the overall atmosphere of darkness and mystery.

Looking closely, I do see a couple of aesthetic blips that might take away from the overall value of this painting, but nothing of great note. Someone mentioned that her wings looked a little to low or close to the chest, I noticed that her mane seemed a little shorter than the norm for Rainbow, and some of those stray lines around the tail, legs, and belly could be a little distracting. But again, nothing of serious note. I really had to be overly critical to notice these "flaws" anyway.

All in all, this is very nice. And if this is what you can bring to the table in a "speedpaint," I can't wait for your next longer-term submission.

Cheers
