So I realize it's been quite a while since I was around on deviantart, I apologize for that. I've been more active on tumblr, but even then I've been busy with offline stuff.
My main focus these last couple months has been on school. I've been learning a TON and making great progress toward my dream of being a video game artist. I've been sharing my progress with my $1+ patrons on Patreon, so I won't share it here for now. When I have some more finished stuff to show for my work, I'll post screenshots on here.
In terms of my non-school life, things have been changing a bit in the last several months. Mainly, I've started to get a lot more into anime than I was before. I always enjoyed the anime I watched, I just didn't watch very much of it. Starting last spring season, I began to watch a ton more, though. I'd like to end up vending at an anime convention sometime next year if possible (Though that might be a little too soon considering my anatomy skills). So yes, I won't deny it since it's pretty obvious at this point, but I'm kind of tired of ponies. I haven't watched more than one episode of the newest MLP season, and I haven't really drawn many ponies in a while. I still draw them sometimes, and I'm still up for them in commissions, but I don't really do it for fun very much these days. If I were to draw more pony-related things, I'd probably want to do anthro or humanized stuff, but I'm not very good at that yet.
So mainly right now, as far as my drawing and painting are concerned, a large part of the reason I'm not posting as much is because I've been drawing things that I'm not nearly as comfortable with. And I want to get better at drawing those things before I start posting them. I've been getting closer to being comfortable about it though.
In other news, I started a new tumblr blog based on the same concept as Lunadoodle. But not so focused on ponies. And especially not so focused on one particular pony. The blog is
waifudoodle.tumblr.com . The idea is to have a daily drawing just like on lunadoodle, but just focused on a character I like a lot. Since I tend to enjoy drawing female figures more, I decided I'd just go ahead and call it waifudoodle (Plus the name wasn't taken, somehow). If you're wondering why I didn't just expand lunadoodle to be about more than Luna, the answer is pressure. Lunadoodle has over 6,000 followers. I'm honored for that kind of attention, but it's also pressure. It's hard to just doodle a dumb drawing with broken anatomy and be okay with posting it when there are going to be over 6,000 people seeing it. So I wanted a fresh start while I get my bearings with human anatomy.
Finally, I really want to thank
Pwney for the dA points for Premium. I'm going to save them for now until I start posting again soon so it'll get more use.
Thanks for reading!
