First Rain in Canterlot by DarkFlame75 First Rain in Canterlot by DarkFlame75
Goes best with this website to create a rainy mood: [link]

Twilight enjoys the first rain of the year in Canterlot.

Inspired by the fact that today was the first rain where I live.

Also, I think I should mention that this heavily uses my headcanon that the Canterlot we see in the show is "Upper Canterlot" where the nobles live. The real city is down below at the foot of the cliff.

Welp. I think this is pretty easily my best work yet. I did this in today's livestream over the course of about 7 and a half hours.

I'm pretty satisfied with this one (Obviously), but I'm even happier because I still see things that could use improvement.

Completion Time: 7 1/2 hours

Livestream Recording(s): [link] (It seems that Livestream somehow failed to save part 2 to their servers. I have it locally still, so I'll keep trying to make a timelapse of it all. No promises though since Procaster saves in a weird codec) Update: The local recording is an extremely crappy quality. I can literally count the pixels every frame. I won't even bother at this point.

Also, during the livestream, chumpy made this [link]

I'm gonna imagine that an epic battle had just finished between Twilight and some opponent (Trixie maybe), and the lingering magic from the onslaught of spells has caused a change in the weather, bringing in the first rainstorm that Canterlot has ever witnessed. (probably due to the high-brow nobles of Canterlot complaining that rainy weather is not necessary in the middle of a city and will only stain their oh-so-important fashion)

I really like this pic. I also love the aging detail to the buildings in the background.

When it rains in Canterlot, it rains all over Equestria...

Looks great.

Most people I know don't like rain that much. Then again, I'm in my high school's marching band, so maybe it's a force of habit. Rain effectively kills outside rehearsal time.

Yeah, I guess I get that.

This was inspired by my mood yesterday, where I wanted to just stand in the rain and enjoy it since it means happy holiday months are coming.

I like this, but I just have a question about Twilight's neck...is it just long or is she standing somehow?

It's just long... I didn't correct her anatomy that much and it's hard to see because of the scarf.

That's what I thought, but there were a couple that hit Elk Grove and Marysville, causing a little damage. Definitely a cool start to the rainy season.

Around here, the rainy season is the end of natural disaster worries. Wildfires don't make it far in autumn rain.

Reminds me a bit of Burmecia from Final Fantasy IX. All it needs is the music.

I watched a playthrough of FFIX all the way through the start of Burmecia... I own the game but still not played it. So I don't really know what it's like. Glad you like it though.

Burmecia is pretty nice, but Clera (which comes after) has one of the best rat river dancing scenes ever to be featured in a video game. I recommend you play FFIX though because Burmecia is only one of several great parts in the game. But I'll stop there before I nerd out on you.

Hahaha no problem. I plan on playing it, but you would not believe my list of games to play. I need to finish FFXII first, which I can't get back to until I finish Mass Effect 2, which is on hold for Bioshock, which I'm taking a break from for Black Mesa, which I'm almost done with but not quite because I'm replaying Dishonored.

See my problem?

Yes I do. Except I've played and beat Mass Effect 2 and FFXII, though I can't get into Bioshock, am not interested in Dishonored and I can't bring myself to wait fifteen hours to download Black Mesa... Though I understand your dilemma because I have: Yet to finish Oblivion, Skyrim, Bioshock 2 (Because I don't have Bioshock 1), Mass Effect 3 (holding out for a real ending), Dragon Age 1 & 2, and a bunch of other games I may have forgotten.

I'm rambling though.

You probably won't get a "real" ending for Mass Effect 3. I'd finish it and make up your own ending if that's what's holding you back.

Bioshock 2 honestly doesn't require the first game for a comprehensive playthrough. There are a few callbacks, but nothing completely necessary. If you don't want to sink eight-ish hours into Bioshock, just look up a playthrough or a plot synopsis. They're both great games, however.
